Many motorcycle riders fear crossing grated bridges. Just keep a very relaxed grip (no death grips), let the handle bars move a little back and forth as you are riding, and look straight ahead. The bike will waver a little from side to side due to the gratings on the bridge, but just relax....you will enjoy it.
Crossing an old iron grate bridge on a bike just plain sucks. The bike gets caught up in the grooves and "wanders" slightly rom side to side. If you have to do this and are nervous, just let the bike do its own thing, and try to relax.
