Its commonly known by the area where it stands, as the Mahalakshmi Layou Anjaneya Temple. This temple is very famous and has gone through immense* changes from what it used to be, till how it exists today. The god's idol is carved out from a single stone!

Someshwara Temple
Located at Ulsoor (Halasuru), this temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is yet another renowned temple. It has the credit of dating back to the Chola Dynasty--which was founded in 300 BC!

Bull Temple (Dodda Basavana Gudi)
The Nandi sculpture here is said to be the biggest of its kind in the world! There is also a Ganesha temple nearby. The annual groundnut fair is held close to this temple, and many tourists throng the premises along with devotees.

Banaswadi Anjaneya Temple
Being perhaps a little more than 150 years old, this temple when visited is said to fulfill the devotees' wishes. The grand festivals of here are the Hanuman Jayanthi and the Navrathri. Free distribution of meals to devotees also takes place here.

Kote Venkataramana Temple
Built in the seventeenth century by a Wodeyar ruler in distinctive styles, the temple houses Lord Venkateshwara. The main event here is the Vaikunta Ekadashi during which the devotees throng the premises in large numbers.

A whole area in Bangalore is named after this goddess. This temple is THAT renowned. Banashankari literally means 'Protector of the Forest'.

Gavi Gangadeshwara Temple

Kadu Malleshwara Temple
Dedicated to Lord Shiva and having Shivarathri as its main event, the entire region of Malleshwaram in Bangalore is named after this temple. Built in the seventeenth century, its even said to be the birthplace of the river Vrishabhavathi!
