Our cruise ship, the Star Princess, stopped at Qaqortoq, Greenland on October 2, 2006.while we were on a Transatlantic Cruise Many times the cruise ships bypass Qaqortoq due to the weather and we were fortunate to be able to go ashore.

Qaqortoq, with its 3000 or so inhabitants is South Greenland's largest town and known as one of the most charming and beautiful towns in all of Greenland. It has a pleasant town centre with a small square and Greenland's oldest fountain. There are also strikingly beautiful colonial buildings, dating from the establishment of the town in 1775.

Southern Greenland is much more than a pretty flyby - this video gives you a taste of what is on offer on the ground, from scenic mountains and icebergs to the wonderful colours of summer in South Greenland's main town, Qaqortoq. Best when viewed in HD.
