During my 12 day Holiday in Funafuti the capital of Tuvalu, I couldn't help noticing the local young people using the airport runway for sport activities, of course this would never happen in the larger cities due to security at major airports, however it was nice to see the young people out & about exercising !!!
Enjoying my time in Funafuti for 12 days & managing to get a scooter ride in-between & sightseeing this very isolated pacific Island.
The main island of Tuvalu, Funafuti, has barely enough room to fit a runway. During the week locals use it as a road, a play ground, meeting place, and sometimes even a place to sleep on hot nights. A couple of times a week though, the fire engines sound a warning to keep clear, a plane is about to land!
