Oslo is a county and municipality, as well as the capital and largest city in Norway. Oslo was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). Founded around 1048 by King Harald III "Hardraade" of Norway, the city was largely destroyed by a fire in 1624.

I spent some time in Oslo, Norway, in 2011 and was absolutely shocked at how rude and unwelcoming the people are. I was pushed in a 7-11 store by a female Norweigan for no reason and I was stared at and followed by male immigrants from Somalia and Pakistan.
Oslo is the capital and largest city of Norway. All activities, governmental, scientific, cultural, financial, banking, maritime are centered here. It is a peaceful,cosmopolitan city with high standard of living.
