Completed in 1801 the Crinan Canal was to be used to link the Forth of Clyde and the Inner Hebrides. Nine miles long with fifteen locks and taking in some exquisite countryside.
Crinan Canal. Often described as the most beautiful short cut in the world. Nine miles long and every mile is a gem. Walk it or cycle and spend some time at the Crinan Canal basin. The Vital Spark sat rusting in the Crinan Canal basin for some time but it is now been looked after at Inveraray on Loch Fyne Argyll Scotland.
