You Know it's Time to Buy Another Car When...

Millions of drivers from Utah to the East Coast are fiercely loyal to their car. But like all possessions, a car eventually gets to the point where it's time to trade it in for something in better shape. Many argue that they don't have the money to buy a new car, or that their current vehicle still functions fine, but that's not always the case. And there are plenty of used cars that are affordable enough for even the thriftiest of spenders. Here are a few signs that it's time to get a new ride.

It's Held Together With Duct Tape

Duct tape is useful for a variety of things, but if you're using it to hold your vehicle together, it's time to send it to the junk yard.

Something Has Been Replaced With Plywood

While it may be cheaper than searching for “new” used cars, replacing parts of the trunk with plywood is not going to do much good for anything inside of it.

5

...or Cardboard

This applies even more when those parts have been replaced with cardboard.

It's Killing Your Social Life

If your car is so ugly that no one in your neighborhood will speak to you anymore, it's probably time to see what used cars are available at the local dealership.

7

You Feel a Need to Do This

The entire process of getting rid of an old car and buying a new one would probably be easier than performing this makeshift repair job.

If the police don't pull you over before you get to the highway, they'll probably write you an extra ticket after you cause an accident because of this fix.
