The movement of tiny houses- the majority are small enough to toe behind a truck. Here are some examples of different ones. They give a good look at how we can live more simply and use space economically, though examples for one that can be used for all seem to be much in demand. Please add your favorites.
PAD Tiny Houses - Tiny House Books, Plans and Workshops PAD is an organization around one woman's Dee Williams who writes books, teaches, and speaks about Tiny Houses.
Spur, Texas is the first city to legalize and welcome Tiny House lots and homes. As such, it is creating a natural community of people from around the country who are moving to Spur to live out their Tiny dream. In architecture school I was tired of drawing buildings that would never exist, for clients that were imaginary, and with details I didn't fully understand. I prefer to work with my hands, exploring details thoroughly, and enjoy working/prototyping at full scale.
We spoke to Stepan Skala from Bachbox, and discovered that a box is not just a box - it's a stylish portable shelter, designed for extreme environments, with an outer steel shell and four large folding decks which completely enclose the building when not in use.
Bachbox has closed pre-fab creation and does not believe they will reopen.

Shaye and Tom's Tiny House is nothing short of spectacular. Nestled amongst the bush in West Auckland, New Zealand it fits perfectly into it's landscape, and feels light, spacious and warm. It's obviously a house that has been built with love. Great features include drawers going up the entire stairs and high quality wood throughout the house.

In 2010, we met Graham Hill- the founder of treehugger.com and a serial entrepreneur. He had just bought two tiny apartments in a century-old tenement building in Soho and he had plans to turn them into laboratories, and showcases, for tiny living.
