Palermo Cathedral is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Palermo, located in Palermo, Sicily, southern Italy. As an architectural complex, it is characterized by the presence of different styles, due to a long history of additions, alterations and restorations, the last of which occurred in the 18th century.
The Church of Santa Maria dell'Ammiraglio or San Nicolò dei Greci, commonly called the Martorana , overlooking the renowned Piazza Bellini in Palermo, Sicily, southern Italy. It is currently the Co-Cathedral of the Eparchy of Piana degli Albanesi of the Catholic Church of Byzantine rite in Sicily.
The building was begun in the early 14th century, and was the residence of the powerful Sicilian lord Manfredi III Chiaramonte. He commissioned the decoration of the Sala Magna ("Grand Hall"), with a painted wooden ceiling by Cecco di Naro, Simone da Corleone and Pellegrino Darena.

The Chiesa di San Cataldo is a church of the Sicilian city of Palermo, on the central Piazza Bellini. It is a notable example of the Arabian - Norman architecture which flourished in Sicily under the Norman domination of the island. The church is annexed to that of Santa Maria dell'Ammiraglio.
The church was built at the beginning of the 17th century by Giacomo Besio, a Genoese member of the Theatines order. It has a majestic though simple façade. In the centre niche is housed a state of San Gaetano, founder of the Theatines order.

Santa Maria dello Spasimo, or Lo Spasimo, is a church in the Kalsa neighborhood in Palermo, Sicily on via dello Spasimo. Construction of the church and accompanying monastery of the Olivetan Order began in 1509 with a papal bull from Julius II, on land bequeathed by Giacomo Basilicò, a lawyer and the widower of a rich noblewoman.
In 1677, along with Procopio de Ferrari, he decorated the small church of the Madonna dell'Itria in Monreale. His first independent work appears to be in 1682 in connection with an equestrian statue cast of Charles II of Spain and Sicily, which was cast in bronze by Gaspare Romano.
