After the scheduled talks in the morning, we enjoyed lunch catered by the fabulous local eatery, Parker & Otis, and put our heads together to conduct the region's first unconference on coworking.
Andrea Foertsch of DisruptiveSpace.com gave an fact-tilled talk about coworking trends from the perspective of a commercial real estate veteran. In these excerpts, she introduces the concept of coworking spaces as "work clubs", contrasts coworking with incubators, and offers advice to landlords who have the opportunity to host an established or new coworking community.
Chad gave a great talk on the challenges of launching a coworking space in a smaller city and reported on the 5 year journey of building The Creative Space in Barrie, Ontario.
