Cheap ways to travel in Bangalore

Going backpacking to some places could cost your wallet's weight to stay quite same, and NOT go light. I'm jotting down options of travel in Bangalore city for your wallet's weight to be retained.

1

Namma Metro

Namma Metro

Prices start from Rs. 15 which IS good for the commuters. It has a hard-to-believe (cheap) tariff for the various passes available. The Metro runs on two lines for now connecting major places, and its a great option!

Bicycle dock at a Namma Metro station

Anyone can use the bicycles parked outside the Purple Line Metro stations as long as they pay the refundable deposit money, and obtain the smart card for the same. The bikes can be parked/dropped off at any other Purple Line stations after use. VERY MUCH ECONOMIC, THIS!

Self-drive cars for rent

With an honestly good tariff that includes fuel, insurance & taxes, and with an added option of an online booking process, I would recommend Zoom Car (link for website included). You get great quality at a great price. Chuck those taxis, drive yourself around and explore more!

Bus passes

Bus passes

The bus services in Bangalore all let you use the passes issued by the Government here. Believe me when I say I am faithful to these bus pass systems, for they never really burn a hole in my pocket even when I've to travel OH SO MUCH.

Bangalore Rounds: Hop-On Hop-Off

A really great way to explore, even for the citizens of Bangalore who've never ventured into the city as much! You get to go around the famous places in the city and even explore them a little for a drop-down price!!

Taxi For Sure Nano

Taxi For Sure has recently launched a fleet of the Tata Nano cars exclusively for Bangalore at nearly or lesser than the rate of everyday autorickshaws!

7

Carpool

Carpool

Bangalore is sure to have many carpooling groups. Hitch up with any of the groups and travel cheap to where you want to go. The thing about carpooling is that you get to meet new people, and also spend less on your travels!

Rent a cycle

Icycle.in has optimum rates for renting bicycles, and there might be other companies also offering bikes for rent at great prices. Renting a cycle for your travels may turn out to be cheaper than that of travelling by car. Plus, it is always nice to stay fit, too!
