Their staff is crazy knowledgeable and passionate, talking to them feels like it’s Christmas: there’s always chocolate to be had. (And I don’t generally fly out of country with at least one of their fair, vegan, locally-made chocolate bars in my hand luggage).
I heart companies that give back: Since 1999 Nutiva has donated $1 million dollars by contributing 1 percent of sales to sustainable-agriculture groups for programs that enrich the soil and support a healthy world. They are go-to for cold pressed extra virgin coconut oil, which I use for…basically everything!
I am Nuts about Nut Butter – and can often be found spooning out a jar of Nuts to You almond butter (hey, don’t judge. This stuff goes with everything: on top of my oatmeal, into a spicy dipping sauce for my vegetables, turned into a raw fudge when combined with protein powder and coconut oil.. I’ll update my blog soon with recipes!) I highly recommend this Ontario-made brand.
GT’s Synergy Kombucha is the first kombucha I’ve ever tried, and has remained my favourite ever since. I especially love Gingerade and Multi-Green. Now that I’m settling in Toronto, my next project will be to make my own. I’m excited to play around with flavours!
