De mogelijkheid 'to make almost anything', thuis met desktop machines. Het ligt nu (bijna ) binnen handbereik door een concept uitgedacht door Neil Gershenfeld van MIT. Het heet een FabLab, en bestaat uit een set machines van bij elkaar zo'n 25.000 euro, waarmee zo niet alles, dan toch veel kan worden ontworpen en gerealiseerd.

Because I copied my ass off when I was 17 and grew up to spend practically every discretionary cent I have on books when I became an adult.
