Kamal Haasan is one of those very rare versatile people, who happens to be an actor, too. He's given just fantastic performances in all his movies and here are those which are definitely a must-watch!!
Kamal Haasan portrays four different people, and is truly the character itself while playing each person. This absolute comedy movie will always be a hit in the hearts of all those who've watched it.
"Guna is about a mentally unstable person, who dreams of a beautiful, Goddess-like girl. He even happens to meet one such girl at a temple. Believing this girl to be the girl of his dreams, Guna abducts her and keeps her in a lonely place. Slowly, a beautiful relationship develops between the two of them."
Though an initial flop, Guna is now a cult movie.
The plot is quite twisted, but worth it for it garnered so much wondrous reception from the public that it went on to win two Filmfare awards for the Best Actor and Best Director categories.
This movie was the latest venture of Kamal Haasan and its sequel is to be released soon. Vishwaroopam was released amid much controversy for it is about the terrorists in the Middle East, and how the reality of terrorism there goes about.
Dashavatharam saw Kamal playing ten different people's roles in a wonderfully thought out plot, and received much acclaim. The film received the Best Film Award and Kamal Haasan received the Best Actor Award at the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards.
With having won five National Film Awards and being screened at the Toronto Film Festival, this movie sure was a big blockbuster! The plot drips of pure reality that goes in rural India every other second. Man up a little, and start watching it already!
An adaptation of the American movie Mrs. Doubtfire. Its of how Kamal dresses as an old woman to be a nanny to his daughter after having been divorced by his wife, and how he manages all the adventures that come his way to finally get together his broken family.
I'd rather that the brave hearts who know how bad Indian politics can turn into must watch. The movie is truly legendary and equally famed. It won three National Film Awards and was included in Time magazine's 'all-time 100 best films' list.
"Balu, short for Balakrishna, is an economically disadvantaged but multi-talented dancer, adept at the Indian classical dances of Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak etc. His simple and honest soul does not permit him to attain professional success in the commercial world that requires a certain level of moral laxness."
The movie spanned enormous popularity, and has won five great awards.
Kamal Haasan's debut into the world of acting was in this movie. I have heard that his performance is as innocent as the orphan child he plays in the movie could possibly be, and does full justice to the role though being a debutante child artist.
