Here is my list of 21st Century Learners Videos
Technology is ever changing and this video is a bit older than some of the others. It provides lots of interesting information about how information technology has evolved over the past few years. The stats that are used in this video would be good conversation starters.
This video informs the viewer that literacy is evolving and 21st century skills are required to successfully engage in this new format.
This video was short, eye catching, and approached the issue from a "let's collaborate" point rather than a "shame on you for not using technology" point.
One of the better videos I have seen that discuss why the traditional classroom isn't working. This video should remind us why introduction of technology should be done at a very early age.
While similar to the video A Vision of Students Today, this video is told through the perspective of a younger generation. The key element here is the need to engage the students in their learning. This actually made me think about my teaching methods and how I can improve student involvement.
Students show they would like to be more engaged and involved in their learning through such means as global communication, more time spent using computers, creating podcasts, etc.
Digital and social media changes the way children socialize and learn. Students should be encouraged to learn and use these tools and skills to become a creator and active participant in the global community.
This video promotes the need for a change in pedagogy to better teach the learners of today. Traditional teaching methods will no longer effectively teach all of the new skills people need.
"21st Century Learning Matters" - In this video we are introduced to ideas of how we as educators can move schools and students towards becoming 21st century ready. This was a really good video to open the discussion of what should be taught in schools and how it should be presented.
The link to the video would not work, so I linked TeacherTube and added the video link in the dialog box
This video makes you think about how we should be teaching today's digital learners. It is a very simply video that shows some good connections of how technology can be used in the classroom.
