After taking a ferry ride from Helsinki, Finland we arrived in Estonia where we showcase some of the top attractions and best things to do in Tallinn travel guide. So today we find ourselves in Tallinn, Estonia. We took the ferry over from Helsinki and it was a two hour ride and now we're in a completely new country.

Tallinn is a mix of east and west. Its Nordic Lutheran culture and language connect it with Scandinavia's Stockholm and Helsinki. But two centuries of Tsarist Russian rule and nearly 50 years as part of the Soviet Union have blended in a distinctly Russian flavor.

Today Ruben Alonso starts his trip to Tallinn the capital of Estonia where he visits this UNESCO World Heritage Site and discovers one of the most important inovations that Estonia has contributed to human development.

Tallinn, like many parts of the Baltic states, has modernized at an astounding rate since the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991. Yet the Old World ambience within its walled town center has been beautifully preserved.
