This is a rundown of some of the things I've learned while living in Alaska. I also included a tour of Ketchikan, AK. I've worked at Ketchikan High School (kayhi) as an AmeriCorps VISTA.

Recorded June 18, 2007. Ketchikan is the southeasternmost sizable city in the state of Alaska. With an estimated population of 7,368 in 2007, it is the fifth most populous city in the state. The city is known as the "Salmon Capital of the World." Ketchikan is named after Ketchikan Creek, which flows through the town.
A rainforest canopy and zipline expedition at Ketchikan Alaska during an afternoon excursion. This experience is one of the most interesting activities that one would want to try at least once in a lifetime.
The first people of Alaska have carved totem poles as part of their culture. The meanings and interpretation of the poles are included. The house shown is built the way Tlingit and Haida people have built it to house many families in one roof. The Totem Pole is the part of the house architecture.
