This is a set of videos that are intended to spark conversation on 21st Century Learning

Pay Attention

This is my top choice for sparking a conversation about 21st century learners. It states several important facts about today's learners and then asks probing questions about what we are doing to engage this student in today's educational system.

Engage Me!

A great video of students holding up a variety of signs to explain what they like to do and how they learn. They are asking the viewer (educators) to engage them with the tools they like.

A Vision of Students Today

This is a short video describing how students learns and what their typical college classroom looks like. They students then start showing signs telling facts about them that prove that the old ways of "sit and get" do not work for today's learners.

21st Century Literacy

This was a very brief video on 21st century learning but it was not all that thought provoking and simple stated a few facts. Very brief

A Vision of K-12 Students Today

This video shows students holding up questions and information for educators to see. They are pointing out that learners want to be engaged and have different needs than previous learners.

21st Century Skills: What Do We Do?

This video explains the problem with today's educational system and addresses how the author feels that it can be fixed.

Rethinking Learning: The 21st Century Learner | MacArthur Foundation

This video take a different focus than most of the others and discusses what we can do to connect the very technological aspects of learner's social/personal lives with their school lives.

Teaching the 21st Century Learner

This video is about the need to change pedagogy to meet the needs of the 21st century learner. I did not rank it very high due to the lack of any real useful information. Music and pictures were great but there was almost no content.

This video consists of interviews of several people on their opinions of the 21st century learner and what we as educators need to do to improve learning.
