The work behind the Reform Symposium Free online Conference featuring 60+ presentations, two plenaries, ten keynotes, student presenters, and much more is staggering to say the least. We want people to fully appreciate the significance of this commitment and of the exceptional opportunity we offer you regarding free professional development online.
Today I’m excited about reviewing Steve Wheeler’s mini-com presentation for The Reform Symposium 2014.
Part one of this series covers the opening ceremony of the second round of events from Sunday May 4th, which was presented by our poet from Tunisia, fondly known as C the P with Jason. R. Levine.
So many impressions and thoughts crowded my vision when I contemplated the impact of being part of this wonderful series of events. The strongest impression was the energy of working with such remarkable people. The feeling of being with the right people at the right time – a massive, global meeting of minds – it’s a very powerful thing.
The future of education and The Reform Symposium really got me thinking about connectivity and about how we need to take a good look at this new power we all share. It brought me on a trip down memory lane to my first days as an online Edupreneur. The memories and highlights are very significant for me with regard to The Reform Symposium Webinars, social/emotional learning around the world, and the future of education everywhere.
It occurred to me on Sunday during the #RSCON Mini-conferences that I could use the experience as my contribution towards this month’s carnival topic. Thanks to the RSCON organisers Chiew Pang and Shelly Terrell for the inspiration.
It dawned on me that the topics were practically the same as our blog challenge – about sharing favourite webtools and teaching ideas.
Therefore I’m sharing the edtech ideas of all of the presenters from the mini-conference which took place in a virtual classroom..
We had 8 mini presentations and a technology smackdown. It was all made possible by the virtual classroom, so my overall favourite tool to share in this respect is the live online virtual space.
This makes a lot of sense to me as I’ve been involved in many sharing initiatives through live webinars.
Description: Memorising language chunks creatively helps students to develop fluency whilst improving critical thinking skills. The ideas are short, practical, and based on experience, research, educational psychology , technology and best practice. and experimentation. Inspired by literature, poetry, arts, mnenmonics, mindmapping, visual thinking, and multi-sensory associations.
