Guru Dutt, a legendary actor was one of the greatest actor in Indian Cinema's history. He is one of my favorite bollywood actor and considered to be a man ahead of his time. Although he made less than 50 films during his lifetime, they are believed to be the best to come from Bollywood's Golden Age.

Pyaasa

Pyaasa

Pyaasa is a 1957 Indian film produced by, directed by, and starring Guru Dutt. The film tells the story of struggling poet, trying to make his works known in post-independence India, and a prostitute with a heart of gold who eventually helps him get his poems published. Pyaasa was rated as one of the 100 best films of all time by Time Magazine, which called it "the soulfully romantic of the lot."

A popular director recruits a new actress to work for his Movie. Another classic which though was a box office disaster in its time but was later resurrected as a world cinema cult classic in the 1980s.

A lowly servant, Bhootnath gets close to the wife of his employer, and narrates her story through his eyes and perspective. The film was a major critical and commercial success, with critics attributing it to Meena Kumari's performance as Chhoti Bahu, which is regarded as one of the best performances of Hindi cinema. It won four Filmfare Awards, including Best Movie award, was nominated for the Golden Bear at the 13th Berlin International Film Festival, and was chosen as India's official entry to the Oscars.

Chaudhvin Ka Chand is a 1960 Hindi feature film directed by Mohammed Sadiq. A production of Guru Dutt, the film centers on a love triangle between Guru Dutt, Rehman and Waheeda Rehman, and features music by Ravi. Farida Jalal is a guest appearance in the film, her debut. After the disastrous box-office performance of Kaagaz Ke Phool, this was a highly commercially successful comeback film for Guru Dutt which saved Guru Dutt's production studio from ruins.

Baazi is a 1951 Indian Hindi film directed by Guru Dutt. This was the second film of Dev Anand's production house Navketan Films, and as per a commitment given by Dev Anand to Guru Dutt in their days of struggle, the movie was directed by Dutt.

The film is a tribute to the Forties' Film Noir Hollywood with the morally ambiguous hero, the transgressing siren, and shadow lighting. It was very successful at the box-office.

The movie was a crime thriller and has Dev playing a police inspector investigating a case. The music is by O. P. Nayyar and the lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri and Jan Nisar Akhtar. It was Waheeda Rehman's screen debut.
