The Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center is a zoo in Belize, located some 29 miles (47 km) west of Belize City on the Western Highway. Set in 29 acres (12 ha), the zoo was founded in 1983 by Sharon Matola. It is home to more than 125 animals of about 48 species, all native to Belize.
What began as a sport by local kids using old motor vehicle inner tubes to float down the smaller rivers in Belize has become a national pass time and tourist attraction - cave tubing. The twist is to use professional grade inflatable tubes and local tour guides to gently cruise down a mountain river.

The island is about 4 miles long, but the town is only about a mile long. Like Ambergris, Caye, Caye Caulker was primarily a fishing community; but its economy has become increasingly tourism-based.
Old Belize Museum and Cucumber Beach is a museum, beach, restaurant and amusement park in Belize, located some 4 miles (6.4 km) west of Belize City on the Western Highway.
