There are times when it can become difficult to find a reason to go on or the strength to get up.
Usually, because the darkness blinds us to all the good things, all the reasons that we have to be grateful for, all the things that we take for granted...and all the reasons that make life worth living. =)
Add what you're most grateful for below! _^
"Books are proof that people can work magic."
Can't afford that awesome adventure you need to go on? Here's an alternative. Desperately need to escape into an alternate world? Here you go. Just want to lose yourself in words and lines that are beautifully strung together to seem almost magical? Perfect. Looking for a life-changing experience or just to add a little magic to your life? Look no further.
I'm thankful for the gift of words. Whether it be literature like novels, poetry, or just a casual blog. They can add new meaning to your life, no exaggeration.
"At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us."
-Albert Schweitzer
This person could be anyone, a family member, a friend, our even a complete and utter stranger. People convince themselves that they are all alone in the world. However, everyone is bound to have at least one person, even if they only touched your lives for a short period of time, that has seen you at your absolute worst. They have seen your most well-hidden secrets, all the things you were afraid to show anyone, and they didn't run the other way. You know this person won't judge you, and you know that they won't ever leave. (Which is why most of us end up taking them for granted). They might not be who we want them to be, but they are ours. <3 They say everyone is bound to find someone, but reality is a lot of people never do. So if you have, just think of how lucky you are to have that person there with you.
"If you ever need a helping hand, remember, it's at the end of your arm."
-Audrey Hepburn
Just the fact that you are sitting there, reading this right now, because you have some sort of access to the internet, is something to be grateful about!
While you're thinking about that, think about WHAT you are reading right now: reasons to be grateful. How many people who are suffering alone have access to this kind of content, to this kind of connectivity, to this kind of information? From do-it-yourself guides, to support groups, you have everything right at your fingertips!
You are Empowered. You are NOT helpless. And that's certainly something to be grateful for!
Stop what you're doing. Look at where you started, where you are now, all that you've faced in between, and tell me you aren't proud.
I'm sure there were some moments when you thought it was the end...well, it wasn't. Are you grateful you never gave up? Seriously, give yourself a pat on the back. You've earned it.
Sunrises, Birds, Sunsets, Rainbows, Rainy days, Perfect Hair days, that moment when everyone is asleep and you're the only one awake, the trees and flowers on your way to anywhere, the stranger who always makes sure to say good morning, hugs, brunch, and so on....
Because they inspire you to prove them wrong! (And hence, they just fuel your motivation.)
The ones who make history, are rarely the ones that people believed could do it.
Yep...you read that right, chance. Even if it's a one in a million chance, you still got a chance right?
It's amazing how many people have no idea how many people DON'T get to eat on a daily basis!
People are so concerned with eating-disorders, and yet, no one seems as concerned about those for whom starvation is NOT a choice.
Seriously, google it, google it now. Then I'd like to hear you come back and tell me it didn't make you just a teeny bit grateful at the least!
Shoes, jackets, warm weather clothes, winter clothes, summer clothes, spring clothes, going-out outfits, work outfits, special occasion clothes.
Some people cry on their way to work because they don't have enough money to buy a decent pair of shoes. Some people don't have enough money to buy a blanket for the winter.
I know people that would argue that at the end of the day, health, is everything.
"When nothing is for certain, anything is possible."
Because it made things clearer.
