After making so many changes to owl hat patterns I've purchased on Etsy, I've finally come up with my own owl hat pattern that doesn't resemble them at all (although the eyes are similar... how many ways are there to crochet circles?). Right now, I've only written the newborn size, so I'm offering it free on my blog.
Always start your rounds in the same stitch as your chain.Ask and you shall receive! I've had many requests for a puppy hat from my Facebook readers over the past couple months so this pattern was quickly bumped to the top of the to-do list!
One of the most fun thing about character and animal hats is that they do more than keep your head warm. They are actually fantastic additions to a dress up collection. My kids are addicted to dress up games and we have an awesome collection.
A friend of mine is having a baby and I have to wait to find out the sex so I decided to make her daughter a kitty hat and well since we all know Valentines Day is coming up I decided to incorporate that into the mix.
