HealthPrize offers a customized online and mobile platform to motivate people to stick with important prescription medications, with the goal of improving health outcomes. HealthPrize is the leader in the use of rewards, gamification, and education (intrinsic motivation!) to engage and motivate patients with a focus on this key "healthy behavior." Poor adherence to prescription medications is estimated to cost the US healthcare system $290 billion in "otherwise avoidable spending" due to poor outcomes that could have been prevented. There is an increasing understanding that cost and forgetfulness are not the main drivers of non-adherence. Our natural human "present bias" is at the core for many patients.

This year, the campaign for UNICEF's Tap Project is challenging us to set our phones aside for a few minutes in exchange for a clean water donation. Just to give you an idea of the challenge: spending a mere 10 minutes away from your phone provides a full day of clean water to a child in need.

However, there are places in the world that have little-to-no available electricity for simple purposes like lightning their homes at night.
