Pinterest-style Financials is a financials services platform that uses pinboards for saving goals.
Typical financial services platform cater towards a player with knowledge of financial markets and instruments. This specific platform aimed to lower the barrier for engaging players by shifting the focus from a rather technical view to a savings goals' point of view. By using pinboards with a lot of images, players can define the elements and the amount of their savings goals by simply pinning images and defining due dates to the boards.
Because of the photos used, other players can follow and re-pin photos to their own boards, thus creating a social network and viral effect. The social component becomes a central part of the financial services platform.
