Many people have asked me how I ended up with 32 iPads in my classroom. Simple Answer: I wrote a grant (with the help of my good friend Amy Jarrett-Clancy!). So then you may ask - where can I get a grant to purchase iPads or other technology for my classroom?

Below is the grant that we wrote and won from the CPS Office of Information Technology Services to receive 32 iPads for the classroom! P roject Title: Everyday Math with Everyday Technology (& iPad integration in other subjects too!)

iPad learning is on the cusp of becoming a national education reform. Hundreds of innovative school districts are making the "digital switch" and implementing the iPad as a key educational classroom resource. According to Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer, 1 million iPads were sold to U.S.

As an experienced teacher, I feel I am once again anxious and overwhelmed by my day to day lesson plans. How this all came about has a little bit to do with being a risk taker and early adopter, as well as a teacher who loves creativity, values problem solving and can't say no when a good opportunity comes along.

I thought it might be useful to share the proposal I wrote for the iPad grant for next year. Sometimes is helps to have language to work with if you are doing this yourself...
