Make A Wish India

Make A Wish India - "We grant the wishes of children with life threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy"

When we talk to people about the work - we do in granting wishes to children who are struggling with critical illnesses - we wonder how many of us know that there really is a scientific basis to our claim about the power of a wish. Emerging scientific and medical research show that positive emotions directly result in positive health benefits for the patient. For example, the simple act of laughing reduces blood pressure and stress, enhances the immune system and relieves pain. Studies have shown that laughter actually reduces stress-related hormones such as epinephrine and cortisol which harm the body when produced in large amounts. Laughter activates the immune system to produce more T-lymphocytes, natural killer cells, gamma interferon and immunoglobulin, which are the defense mechanisms against infection and cancer cells.
