I spent 4 days last week in Orlando at AIIM's 2014 conference. I tried to capture as much of the conference as I could in my notes and post those here for folks who weren't able to attend. Here's a quick recap: 1. Guy Kawasaki: Enchantment The Art of Changing Hearts, Minds and Actions 2....
IBM had a few artists in their booth at AIIM14. Do you recognize these industry people?
The AIIM Conference 2014 held last week in Orlando was all about "information chaos" and the opportunities for organizations that manage enterprise content not merely to make sense of the rapidly expanding volumes of content bring created, but to use them to strength the entire enterprise.
The information landscape has never been so chaotic -- creating huge challenges for business, but golden opportunities, too. The way organizations manage their information assets is just as crucial as how they look after physical, personnel, and financial assets.
I recently returned from AIIM 2014, the annual conference staged by the Association for Information and Image Management, and I have to say, it was a great experience! Right from the opening keynote by well-known industry pundit Guy Kawasaki, AIIM 2014 signaled that it would be a much different event for IT professionals than, for example, Microsoft's annual TechEd show.
By Chris Walker, Analyst at Digital Clarity Group A while back I wrote a couple of posts ( one and two) about attempting to value information as an asset, carried on the balance sheet. I took a very accounting oriented approach, and I think I've made some progress.
Just got back from enjoying three days at the AIIM Conference 2014 in Orlando. Yes, the weather was great - especially considering the winter/spring we had/are having up here in northwestern PA. But, as I predicted in my previous post, I ended up spending very little time outside enjoying the weather.

Posted on Fri, 04/04/2014 - 17:00 We wrapped up our week at AIIM 2014 in Orlando yesterday. AIIM is an interesting show... a shadow of what it was "back in the day," when thousands upon thousands attended. Today, numbers are probably one tenth of what they were in the heyday.
ECM Community Blog By Mike Alsup, Senior Vice President at Gimmal Group Current Rating: I went to the AIIM Conference last week in Orlando. While the format is very different than the big AIIM Shows in the 90's and 00's, many of the themes were the same.
We had a terrific time at #AIIM14 -- such awesome attendees and sponsors. We are grateful for the trust they all put in us to take 3 days out of their schedule and share with us and with each other. More on that in my next post.
By Jim Merrifield, Director of Information Governance at FileTrail, Inc. Current Rating: As the old saying goes, all good things must come to an end. The AIIM team sure did save the best for last. And no, I'm not just saying that because I was a Day 3 presenter!
By Jim Merrifield, Director of Information Governance at FileTrail, Inc. Current Rating: I know this post is a bit late, but as the old saying goes..better late than never. Let's just stay I had too much fun at the AIIM Conference Party and Awards Ceremony.
In the inimitable style of Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert, I must ask you: was last week's AIIM Conference a good educational event for information professionals or a great one? This was the third edition in the gathering's reincarnation as an AIIM-only production, and it can be safely said that it was a worthy successor to the first two.
Records Managers as a whole strike me as a a timid bunch when it comes to change. I can picture them back in the 1990s clinging to their cardboard boxes until the tide of digitization and computerization finally swept over them and they had little choice but to give in.
Awesome list of articles from AIIM14 focused on Records Management and governance issues.
Essential Guide This Essential Guide is a collection of articles, videos and other content selected by our editors to give you a comprehensive view of this topic. Records management has moved from the black-and-white cycle of capture, retain, destroy into a gray expanse that is bewildering, but also rich with potential.
The Association for Information and Image Management-otherwise known as AIIM-held its 2014 conference April 1-3 in Orlando. The theme of the event, Information Opportunity vs. Information Chaos, was intriguing, and the event itself didn't disappoint.
