MANILA, Philippines-The memorandum issued by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) on Jan. 30, 2014 proposes the banning in the Philippines of access to websites containing child pornographic materials. Earlier reports said that NTC has proposed the blockage of all pornographic sites in the Philippines and asked the country's Internet Service Providers (ISP) to install a program to prevent such access.

MANILA, Philippines - The government is ordering Internet service providers (ISPs) in the Philippines to block access to child pornography. In a memorandum issued on January 30, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) instructed all ISPs to "install available technology, program or software that will block access or filter all websites carrying child pornography materials."

The Philippines said Monday it would require Internet service providers to install filters to block access to child pornography. The move comes as the Philippines cracks down on online child pornography, arresting at least 13 suspects earlier this year for allegedly offering online images of children being sexually abused.
