The winning project for Aarhus's new city hall consisted roughly of three connected building volumes with almost flat roofs placed on the site - a former cemetry - to create a small park. The building harmonizes with the dense urban structure on Park Allé, while on the west, it opens up onto an area with fewer buildings, at the time a garrison, today the Concert Hall.
The Skovshoved Petrol Station ( Danish: Skovshoved Tankstation) is a historic, still-operating filling station in Skovshoved at the northern outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark. First opened in 1936, it was designed by Arne Jacobsen and is an example of the functionalist style typical of the time.
Arne Jacobsen designed the Rodovre Town Hall, completed in 1969. The new functionality of structure that came about with Bauhaus results in a minimalist and rational structure. In this building, Jacobsen first created a central staircase suspended by thin steel rods and lined with glass railings.
