I haven't begun playing around with this software, but for anyone looking to develop Flash animation, this looks to be a great program.

Tupi is a suite of tools for 2D animation created for children for ages to 8 to 100 years. When you think on Tupi, think of it as a toolbox full of different components, each designed for a specific task. I only discovered this software last week and it has already impressed me. I'll have more info as I start using it.

I discovered this one recently, a great product from a UK-based company, Hippo Animator is a "Real" alternative to flash-based animations. In today's every increasing portable and tablet dominated web consumption, cross-compatibility, especially with regards to IOS-based devices is a must. Hippo Animator, with its HTML5-based animation engine is fantastic for producing simple animations for banners or more complex animations for explaing complex concepts or processes. The interface is intuitive and a user can be up and running and creating animations within 30 mintues. There is a FREE version, which is quite capable and the full-blown version can be purchased for around $50.
