Best Mountain Bikes Under 500 Dollars 2020

Some really good mountain bikes under $500 I've found online with useful reviews from other owners. Perfect for beginners trying to find their first bicycle of this type and also for experienced cyclists.

26" Roadmaster Granite Peak Men's Mountain Bike
The 26" Black Roadmaster Granite Peak Mountain Bike is an excellent all-around mountain bike that is right at home on rugged, unpaved paths. The Roadmaster Mountain Bike is also great for cruising the streets in your neighborhood. This 26-inch men's mountain bike features a suspension fork that smoothes the path ahead of you, and tire tread that grips pavement or dirt. With 18 speeds, this Men's Roadmaster Mountain Bike features Shimano rear derailleur, SRAM drive twist shifters to change gears smoothly and a three-piece mountain crank offers wide gear range.

- Nice bike for the money
- Rides real nice
- fairly easy to put together.

- Directions could have been a lot clearer.

Pick one of this great bikes for your rides in the mountain or in the forest during this 2014.

Jeep 29er Comanche Mountain Bike (18.5 Inch, Satin Copper)

The bike was easy to put together and the parts gave the feeling of good quality. It is incorrectly stated in the product info that the tires are 28 inches....they are in fact 29. The bike feels light for it's size. The handle bar is nice and big and has a cool tapered style. Nice grips. It sits high so no need for fooling around with a stem raiser. I'm 6 feet tall and 200 pounds.....finally feel like I have a bike that is the right size for me. Plenty of clearance between your feet and the front tire as you turn. The front shock is excellent and very smooth....the bike bounces over potholes nicely. I don't miss the rear shock. Love the lever shifters....the rear derailleur is heavy duty.....the gears feel much different than 26". I've been on 5 rides from about 5-10 miles....half city and half trails....where I used to cruise in 13th speed, I tend to do about 11th speed on this bike.
