Just remove the battery cover, remove the isolating plastic from the battery and the unit is ready. Push the sensor into the clip, attach the clip to the oven shelf and plug the sensor in to the unit.
Now find somewhere to mount the head unit and that's it.

When I saw this thermometer I wanted to try it since it showed the oven AND food temps. But I was a little skeptical at first.
The product pictures (IMHO) do not do it justice -- it appears (at least to me) to be cheaply made. This is NOT the case.
The thermometer itself is great. It is well made and the buttons have a good feel to them, the probe wire (could be 6” longer) is covered with stainless mesh, and the probe is sturdy and well made.
The thermometer is accurate, reading within 2-3 degrees of my other thermometers (all showed water boiling at 210-213 degrees).

Works as advertised!
Produces great Ribs, Butts, Roasts, Chicken, really any meat you care to grill.
Use it to calibrate you range oven, and understand what settings on the oven dial are the least accurate.
Carry the remote in your pocket, or place it in the stand where you can check it with a glance.
Works in every room of the house and around my property. Has never lost connection once set.
Alarms work great to alert you when to add charcoal, or let you know if the temp is running contrary to your plan.
Well made, easy to use.
If I could only have one thermometer, this is the one I would choose.
Never have to guess whether it's done. I've used it on ribs, roasts, steaks, salmon, chicken, turkey all with the same great results.

Excellent thermometer for either BBQ or regular Kitchen Oven usage. The main rule to follow is to avoid making sharp bends in the probe cable. If you do make sharp bends, either in storage or in use, you may damage the cable and render it useless. The probe tip mounts easily in the included "foot mount" and the probe tip should be placed near the item being cooked. If using it in the oven, you can close the oven door on the cable without causing any damage but just be sure that this does not cause any "kinks" in the cable. For storage, it will be safer to coil up the cable rather than storing it in the "bowtie" fashion that it was originally packaged with.
I use this unit for both Kitchen oven and outdoor BBQ grills and it works great in both applications.

My husband loves this thermometer. He was skeptical when I gave it to him, but it's kind of like asking for directions for a male...might not like admitting they need it but sure glad they did!:-)
He can set the desired temp and be working on a project and hears the thermometer tell count down the time and temp.

I purchased this thermometer for our Kiwanis Organization to use to determine the temperature of our grill for cooking hamburgers.
However, while learning to operate it at home before putting it in our K-Burger Wagon, I found that I could use it to check the temp in my refrigerator, freezer, oven, stovetop, and even check if cold air is coming in around my doors when the wind is blowing.
It is a cool tool!!

I was a little worried about getting this because it looked too nice (like a PDA), was inexpensive, and had no reviews to back it up.
But the thermometer itself has worked great, is very accurate and quick to come to the right temperature (as good as my instant). I have regularly used it for the oven, in the grill, and on the rangetop w/o any problems.
The extra features on this unit are great as well. All the saved temperature settings for various types of meat are correct, and the pre-alert lets you take it out to rest before reaching the final temperature. There is also an extra setting which I used to program in the temperature for fish.
All in all, I highly recommend this unit, especially for the price.
This transmitter works flawlessly. The dual-probes let you track two meats - or if you are like me and like to cook things at low (200-250 degree) temperatures it is invaluable to free you from having to sit next to the grill the whole time.
You can set your own custom temperature you want it to alert you at - if none of the presets work (in my case I just set one of them up to beep if it goes above 275 - so I know it is getting too hot...)
Unlike other wireless transmitters - this one is rated up to 500 degrees... and if it gets out of range it will display "HHH" instead of just frying itself like other brands probes. If a probe should ever go bad - Maverick will replace it for free (instructions in the box tell you where to mail it to)
