Listly by Laura Dennis
Fate would have it that two hot things in adopt-o-world are happening THIS WEEK! It's the release of two breakthrough books, and my only dilemma is which one to talk about first. These books will change the world as we know it! I truly believe that.
I am SUPER excited to announce the publication of a new book to which I had the honor of contributing a chapter! articipating in an interview project that paired contributors with one another.

Lesson's from "Philomena" I wanted to see the movie "Philomena" but was unable to do so during the short run at my local cinema. But I know the basic story and urge everyone to see it. Adam Pertman, President of the Donaldson Adoption Institute, did see the movie and wrote a great blog about it on Huffington Post.
I was honored to be asked to provide the introduction to an anthology of writing concerning adoption reunion: Adoption Reunion in the Social Media Age, an Anthology, edited by Laura Dennis. I was honored to be asked to contribute the introduction to this anthology of voices speaking of reunion as it relates to adoption, on various levels. Much appreciated here is the expansive context, not limited to, say, just adoptees, or just mothers. Here is an excerpt from my introduction:
This anthology gives voice to the wide experiences of adoptees and those who love them; examining the emotional, psychological and logistical effects of adoption reunion. Primarily adult adoptee voices, we also hear from adoptive parents, first moms and mental health professionals, all weighing in on their experience with reunion.
Laura - Ohhhh ... so many suggestions, so many places to start.
