Everybody loves a good soup.
Well maybe I should say most people because I know one person who hates it.
Here is your chance to vote for the best of the bunch. Go ahead and add your own if it is not already on the list.
Whether it is spring, summer, autumn or especially winter, there is nothing like the smell and taste of fresh homemade chicken soup. Not only is it a "feel good" food, but it is also good for you. There are quite a few ways to prepare this delectable elixir.
A brightly coloured soup that works well as a lunch or as an opening course for a larger meal. The texture of the final result can by varied with the use of a different kind of pasta.
Some people get silly about bacon but I just see it as another kitchen ingredient. This is a main course soup with a tomato base then bacon and vegetables included in it. The use of yellow mustard as the flavour was a bit of an experiment.
Kidney Bean and Tomato Soup Kidney beans bring the protein then add in the goodness of tomatoes and other vegetables to create a great soup that only needs some bread for a substantial meal. Optionally add some cheese for a little extra luxury.
Tomato and Red Pepper Soup with Meatballs Soup is a great dish for when a meal is needed in a hurry and this Tomato and Red Pepper Soup with Meatballs is no exception. Strictly, I should say meatless balls because the recipe is using a vegetarian alternative.
Mmmmm, mushroom and barley soup is a wonderfully, filling soup that tastes absolutely delicious. The earthy, fragrant mushrooms and the chewy barley are so good that you'll be looking for helping #2 very quickly.
Deliciously warming bowl of this red lentil and leek soup is a great warmer on a cold winters day. Equally good when the weather is warmer though. Whatever the temperature, this filling and healthy soup is a definite winner when I serve it..
This Italian Minestrone Soup is a nice, hearty meal in a bowl. One that will be sure to have you clean your dish and look for more! And the best part is, since this delicious soup is healthy, it would never be a problem to have that heaping second helping.
Cabbage soup is a delicious soup no matter how you make it... but with the addition of milk, it makes it even better! Ingredients 1 medium-sized cabbage, shredded 1 pound of potatoes, diced small 3 carrots, shredded 3 cups of milk 3 cups water 1⁄4 cup finely chopped parsley 1 Tablespoon flour 2 ounces of butter pepper and salt to taste Method Place the butter and the flour into the stock pot.
Mushrooms are one of my favourite vegetables. They combine wonderfully with milk in this recipe. The resulting Cream of Mushroom Soup can be used as a delicious lunch or as a Starter with a Dinner. Using Red Onion gives an interesting twist because of the colour that they add.
