Kalutara Bodhiya

The Kalutara Bodhiya is a place that brings together thousands of devotees given its sacredness. Located 10 minutes from the Avani Kalutara Resort the Kalutara Bodhiya is not just another temple but a place that is said to shelter a sacred bo tree that is a sapling from the Sri  Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura. The significance religiously and culturally makes it a must visit when in Kalutara.

Mangrove on Kalu Ganga

The Kalu Ganga that flows through Kalutara is home to lush mangroves. Exploring the Kalu Ganga and the mangroves also gives you an opportunity to visit some of the rural villages nearby. There are many guided tours available, including canoeing and boat safaris. Therefore, this is definitely one of the best things to do in Kalutara.
