Harmony House provides safe and secure emergency housing to families escaping domestic violence. Since 1976, our emergency shelter has offered women and their children the opportunity to rest and heal both emotionally and physically in a supportive environment. Each year, Harmony House provides shelter, case management, advocacy and other supportive services to more than 700 women and children.
We refer clients to a variety of community partners that provide emergency housing to individuals and families in need. Below is a list of emergency housing providers in Springfield and their contact information. If you are in immediate danger please call 911. Housing is not available on site at Pregnancy Care Center.

The Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453) is dedicated to the prevention of child abuse. Serving the United States, its territories, and Canada, the hotline is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with professional crisis counselors who, through interpreters, can provide assistance in over 200 languages.
Shelter is the primary need for our domestic violence clients, and we have a proud tradition of high quality residential services at SafeHaven, our shelter for battered women and their children. Last year, more than 300 women and 225 children found refuge at SafeHaven.
NEW: Ambassadors for Children is a service of the Council of Churches of the Ozarks and dedicated to supporting abused and neglected children and youth in our community. Many children come into foster care having been abused or neglected with little to no clothing or personal belongings, and carrying significant emotional burdens.
