Five Romantic Things to Do in Doha: Date Ideas for Every Couple – A Memorable Getaway with Your Partner

Want to spend some quality time with your partner? Great! Doha is the perfect place for it. Whether it’s a special date night or something entirely unique, this amazing city has so much to offer.

1

A Dhow Cruise

A sunset ride on a traditional dhow boat is one of the most romantic things you can do in Doha. As the sun sets, the sky turns shades of orange and pink, creating a lovely spectacle of the city skyline in the distance. It’s calm, serene, beautiful, and romantic! Grab a seat on the deck for the best views. It can get a bit chilly and breezy, so take a shawl with you. Corniche Harbour is where you can enjoy an evening dhow cruise. Boats are available throughout the day, though.

2

A Walk at Aspire Park

A peaceful green space right in the middle of Doha, Aspire Park is an excellent spot for a couple to relax. The park features beautiful lakes, lawns, and walking paths – it’s ideal for a slow walk together. Visit in the afternoon to catch the soft, golden light. Don’t forget to bring a picnic to enjoy under the shaded gazebos. A highlight is the Torch sculpture, which often features in photos. Aspire Park is about 20 minutes from Al Najada Doha Hotel Apartments by Oaks, a hotel that offers 1-bedroom apartments in Doha.

Katara Cultural Village

To experience art, culture, and history all in one place, visit Katara Cultural Village. There’s a mix of traditional and modern structures, which makes it a fun exploration. What else do you find here? A range of art galleries, theatres, mosques, cafés, and restaurants. There’s also a beach. For a couple, Katara Cultural Village offers the opportunity to spend some romantic time together while learning about Doha’s history and culture. The golden-domed mosque is a highlight, and you can head to the amphitheatre at sunset to enjoy gorgeous sea views. The village is open all day, every day, but the shops and attractions inside have their own operating hours.

The Pearl-Qatar

A beautiful waterfront area with shops, restaurants, and luxury yachts, The Pearl-Qatar is a must-visit for a couple. Qanat Quartier – which is like Venice, with vibrant buildings and canals – is a highlight. It’s an excellent place for couples to walk around, take in the views, and enjoy a delicious meal. Stroll along the canals and take pictures on the charming bridges. Go in the evening to catch the golden light of the sun, then stay for a romantic dinner by the water. The Pearl-Qatar is open all day, but most shops and restaurants are open from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Museum of Islamic Art Park

A park sitting by the water, the Museum of Islamic Art Park is visited by both locals and foreigners. It features a long, crescent-shaped path and outdoor art installations. The park is a great spot in the city to enjoy the skyline. Visit on the weekends to browse the local markets. You can also rent a picnic basket at the park for a romantic outdoor meal. The Corniche Promenade is open Saturday to Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. It’s closed on Wednesdays.
