The former residence was once owned by the family of a wealthy merchant but its serene river-side surroundings make it perfect for a pleasant walk today. This scenic park is home to various cultural buildings including a modern art gallery, a large library, a museum and the Grand Theatre, where several performances are held. The park is a convenient spot for exploring Tianjin’s cultural heritage in full with these buildings located close by. Once you’ve had your share of cultural exploration you can take the kids to the northern edge of the park where you’ll find the Galaxy Mall and the Colour Mall. Kids will love the latter in particular as it is designed specifically for the little ones with an entire floor dedicated to jungle gyms, games and fun rides.

The venue is divided according to the latitudinal zones of Earth so you’ll have a chance to all kinds of marine species from vibrant coral reefs to inquisitive polar bears, to entertaining beluga whales. The aquarium also hosts various educational sessions and demonstrations making it worth a visit with the kids, even though it's a little further from the city centre.
