Tianyi Pavilion

Dubbed one of the oldest private libraries on Earth as well as the oldest family-owned library in China, Tianyi Pavilion is well worth a visit for its historical significance. A Chinese architect named Wang Shu is credited with creating the building’s distinctive architectural style which was influenced by the surrounding seas and mountains and has incorporated ancient tiles and bamboo into its structure. It even marked him down in history as the first Chinese national to win the Pritzker Architecture Prize.
