Take the challenge! We suggest 30 educational goals each year. You choose to accomplish 1 to 30 of your choice, post a reflection in our Facebook community or Twitter. These are the 30 Goals, interviews, and guest posts for 2013 but you can choose any goal from 2010 on up!
Welcome to Cycle 4 of the 30 Goals Challenge for Educators: This is MY moment! Over 9000 educators have joined the The 30 Goals Challenge since January 2010. You have the opportunity to join our community of educators throughout the next few months of 2013 as we aim to accomplish 30 short-term goals related to education.
Goal 1: Define Your Moment of "Every moment is the paradox of now or never."
Goal 2, “Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, “I will try again tomorrow.”~ Mary Anne Radmacher
Goal 3, After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music. ~ Aldous Huxley
Goal 4, An idea that is not dangerous is unworthy of being called an idea at all. ~ Oscar Wilde
Goal 5, “A ship in port is safe, but that is not what ships are built for. Sail out to sea and do new things.” ~ Grace Hopper
Goal 6 “Choose your battles wisely. After all, life isn’t measured by how many times you stood up to fight. It’s not winning battles that makes you happy, but it’s how many times you turned away and chose to look into a better direction. Life is too short to spend it on warring. Fight only the most, most, most important ones, let the rest go.”~ C. JoyBell C
Goal 7, “If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas.”~George Bernard Shaw
Goal 8, “The most basic of all human needs is the need to understand and be understood. The best way to understand people is to listen to them.” ~ Ralph G. Nichols
Goal 9, “What a wonderful thought it is that some of the best days of our lives haven’t happened yet.”~ Anne Frank
Goal 10, "Some books should be tasted, some devoured, but only a few should be chewed and digested thoroughly."
This time I was really excited about the subject. One great thing about this blog challenge is that we get to vote the Goals and decide on what we are going to write about! I suggested "My Book print" and I am so happy to see that most of the people who take part in this voted for it!!!
Goal 11, “A master can tell you what he expects of you. A teacher, though, awakens your own expectations.” ~ Patricia Neal
Goal 12,"If your actions in the classroom inspire children to achieve more, question more, and dream more, you are indeed worthy of the title "Teacher."
Goal 13:, "True wisdom comes to each of us when we realize how little we understand about life, ourselves, and the world around us."
Goal 14 "Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears." -Les Brown This year with the 30 Goals Challenge for Educators, our 30 Goals Facebook community is voting on what some of the goals will be accomplishing.
Goal 15 “Teachers are expected to reach unattainable goals with inadequate tools. The miracle is that at times they accomplish this impossible task.”
~ Haim Ginott
Goal 16: “Failure is simply an opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.” ~ Henry Ford
Goal 18 “The whole art of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural curiosity of young minds for the purpose of satisfying it afterwards.” ~Anatole France
Goal 20: Confront the Issues "One of the most difficult things everyone has to learn is that for your entire life you must keep fighting and adjusting if you hope to survive.
Goal 21: Ditch the Plan! "I'm going to keep the door open, and keep the page blank, and see what gets painted upon it." ~ Tom Hiddleston This year's 30 Goals Challenge theme is, "This is MY Moment."
Goal 22 "Things keep going on, they overlap and blur, your story is part of many other stories, and there is no telling where any of them may lead."
Goal 23 "The greatest accomplishment began as a decision once made and often a difficult one." ~ Michael Rawls This year's 30 Goals Challenge theme is, "This is MY Moment."
