Top Timelapse & Hyperlapse Videos

This is my third short-film about the northern lights. This year some epic displays has been on the sky, and for the first time I have included real-time recordings. As usual, my main focus is on getting the auroras show as close as possible to real-time speed given the time available in a short video.

There were a lot of long nights and early mornings, most of the time it was really cold and foggy. Living on top of a hill allowed me to look out and observe what the clouds, fog, and light would do. When it looked right, I went out and hoped for the best.

This video is a collaboration between Sheldon Neill and Colin Delehanty. All timelapses were shot on the Canon 5D Mark II with a variety of Canon L and Zeiss CP.2 Lenses. Like fireflies at night, or cars drifting over invisible roads in the sky. It's simply amazing to see what airplanes look like when flying at night when shot at long exposures!

This is a compilation of timelapses I did in western Norway last summer. - Locations include Ålesund, Trollstigen, Geiranger, the Briksdal glacier and Urnes & Kaupang stave churches.

Between January 23. and 29. I was again in Norway for shooting northern lights. This time I was very lucky, there was a lot of activity on the sky especially on the 24 January. The scenes are from Ravnastua, Skoganvarre and Lakselv. The first two days I had a lot of trouble with frozen Cameras.

Tempest Milky Way won Best Overall and Audience Choice at the 2011 Chronos Film Festival. http://www.chronosfilmfestival.com One of the challenges in making this video, was trying to get good storm with stars shots. The opportunity doesn't come along very often, the storm has to be moving the right speed and the lightning can overexpose the long exposures.

"Made on Earth" is the result of many photography expeditions over the past two years. Spain, Iceland, Estonia and USA were the main destinations. My goal has always been to get the best results, both technical and dramatical, emphasizing composition, light and feeling in each and every shot.

"TimeScapes" is the first 4K film ever sold to the public.

Inhale the fresh air, smell the refreshing scent of the green pine forests glowing above black volcano sands, no sound but the wind in the trees. A deep blue sky matches with the blue Atlantic Ocean far below. Epic volcanic trails lead through a unique archaic landscape. Feel the elements.

Ever since I was a kid, I have always been mesmerized by extraordinary beauty of my hometown, San Diego. The city has many hidden treasures that have always captivated me, and they continue to do so. Most people only get to experience the tourism side San Diego, but I wanted to show the city through my own eyes and artistic vision.

Best viewed in 1080p Full HD, full screen with sound. Shot over the last couple of months mostly in and around the volcanic plateau of the central North Island of New Zealand in the Tongariro National Park World Heritage Area.

Best viewed in full HD. This timelapse features my best work yet. It represents hours and hours of dedication to the art. I'm driven by chasing fleeting moments of damatic light on beautiful landscapes and also capturing the night sky and milky way in all it's glory is a real buzz.

All Time-lapse sequences were taken by the astronauts onboard the International Space Station (ISS) (Thanks guys for making this available to the public for use!) All footage has been color graded, denoised, deflickered, slowed down and stabilized by myself. Clips were then complied and converted to 1080 HD at 24 frames/sec.

After chasing it for more than two years I was finally rewarded with two displays of Aurora Australis (Southern lights) within a week visible from Mornington peninsula, not far from Melbourne. The nights were warm an clear and the Moon was not in the sky either - I could not have asked for better conditions.
