A Visit to Benchakitti Forest Park

This beautiful park can be found in downtown Bangkok and is like a forest in the middle of the city. The area is an expanse of greenery and wetland areas with elevated walkways, jogging and cycling paths making it a great place to go for a walk and explore in the morning or afternoon. The backdrop of the city with the lovely scenery makes the park famous for people to visit and capture some beautiful photographs.

The Erawan Museum

This famous museum that also serves as a temple was opened in 2003 and has an iconic giant-3-headed elephant sculpture at the top of the Pink Temple. In Hindu mythology, the 3 headed elephant is the God Indra’s steed. There are many different areas such as The Underworld area which is on the ground floor and has a variety of sculptures and statues depicting Naga serpents. Above this floor, you will come to what is known as The Human World where on the floor you will see porcelain inlays and beautiful support pillars and stained glass. The top floor is what is known as The Heavens and is a beautiful area with lovely art that prefaces the solar system and images of the Buddha.

The Maeklong Railway Market

This very interesting place is a definite must-visit as it makes for a unique experience of visiting a market that is quite literally on a railway line. This large market is filled with vendors and people that bustle around and as the trains come through, the traders pack up and move their wares and produce away from the track until the train passes by. Then the traders will bring back their wares and continue on with their business like nothing interrupted them. This whole experience is quite a thrilling experience to witness and really shows you just how adaptable the local townsfolk are.

The Floating Markets of Bangkok

There are a number of these markets found across Bangkok, but one of the famous ones can be found in close proximity to the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, which makes for a great place to stay at to ensure that you can enjoy all the wonderful experiences that Bangkok has to offer without sacrificing on comfort and luxury. These floating markets are a remnant of when the waterways in Thailand were the main trade routes. A visit to one of these markets is one of the Best Things to Do in Bangkok as there is always a lot going on and the chaotic market culture makes for a great atmosphere.

This unique and interesting museum provides a look at how the fake items of mass production are made. Here you will find many different counterfeit watches, handbags, clothes and other goods that are in demand and how they are made. The museum makes for an educational fun view of the goings-on of the counterfeit trade.
