Taking a break from your Dreamforce sessions and looking for a great place for lunch, dinner or cocktails? Here are some great places a short walk from Moscone. #DF15
Bluestem Brasserie is one of my downtown SF favorites. Gorgeous interior and all the brasserie staples you'd expect (charcuterie, steak frites, etc.) and some fresh ideas like the pulled pork sandwich and the lamb burger, all perfectly executed. Open for lunch and dinner. Don't miss out on the brussels sprouts.
A slice of France in downtown San Francisco. The charcuterie plate is amazing, as are the creative cocktails (this is the place that caused me to fall in love w/St. Germain cocktails). Open for lunch and dinner, and with outdoor covered seating.
It's hard to resist their signature burger, but any of the seasonal pork dishes are always worth trying. At dinner, the warm ham and cheese toast w/poached egg+ jalapeño cream is amazing, and the Mary’s buttermilk fried chicken is my frequent pick. Be sure to save room for the butterscotch+chocolate pudding for dessert.
Tucked under the dome at Neiman Marcus, this ladies-who-lunch staple has an enviable view of Union Square, in addition to amazing popovers served with strawberry butter to start off your meal. Open for lunch and afternoon tea.
Salt House is located in a beautiful, refurbished 1907 printing press warehouse. Open for lunch and dinner, featuring contemporary American food plus a seasonal, artisan cocktail list. The chicken pot pie, poutine, and the burger are all standouts.
Located in the Hilton San Francisco, the Urban Tavern is one of the best new restaurants in San Francisco. For beer lovers: they serve Pliny the Elder IPA
Upscale ambiance a nice differentiator at this Indian restaurant very close to Moscone.
Once you step through the entryway into Lark Creek Steak, into the white-tableclothed dining room, you forget you're inside the Westfield shopping center. Open for lunch and dinner, and featuring a great cocktail program in addition to an excellent selection of steak. My favorites here include the chopped little gem salad, the cowboy steakburger w/onion rings, and the amazing butterscotch pudding.
RN74 is a San Francisco urban wine bar and restaurant by Michael Mina, Rajat Parr and Adam Sobel featuring modern interpretations of refined American and regional French cuisine with an extensive wine list highlighting the Burgundy region of France. Solid choice for lunch or dinner, but cocktail hour is where RN74 really shines.
Open for lunch and dinner, featuring Californified Neapolitan pizzas. The Potrero (w/Speck, Green Onion, Panna, Black Pepper, Mozzarella,
Grana Padano) is my fave.
Located under the historic Emporium dome inside the Westfield shopping center, Cupola is the place for perfect Neopolitan style pizza.
This lively union square modern Asian restaurant is a great place for a happy hour, or a group lunch or dinner. I never pass up their dry fried green beans.
Local Kitchen & Wine Merchant features wood-fired pizzas and a great selection of beer and wine. Open for lunch and dinner. Make sure to start with the Burrata or seasonal Fall salad.
An all-day London-inspired brasserie, located in the new Hotel Zetta. Grab a pint and some brussels sprout chips, and try to decide between fish & chips and the "Marlowe" burger.
Excellent Chinese food in a great looking setting. Be sure to order an assortment of appetizers to share, and don't miss the Mongolian Beef Tower.
TAP 415 has excellent cocktails, a good selection of beer, and lots of great snacks to share. My favorites include the pretzel bites, Reuben tater tots, and the cheese and charcuterie plates.
