Thailand’s vibrant capital city is now one of the most frequently photographed places in the world. With its vast array of magnificent temples, cultural neighbourhoods and artistic hubs, Bangkok exudes a unique charm, making it a paradise for photographers to enjoy. Here are some of the best places to visit in Bangkok if you want to document your time in the city through a series of stunning photos.

Wat Arun

Commonly referred to as the ‘Temple of Dawn’, this stunning structure the bank of the Chao Phraya River is one of the best that ancient Bangkok offers. There are two ways you can capture this magnificent temple. You can visit the temple and snap away to capture its stunning architectural features; Wat Arun features several sculptures of soldiers and animals, an ornate ordination hall with golden statues and intricate murals, and a 70-metre spire that you can climb. Alternatively, you can head to the opposite bank of the river and capture the entire temple bathed in the warm glow of a rising or setting sun.

Located in the heart of the city, The Grand Palace is an opulent complex of buildings that formerly served as the residence of the Thai King. Today it serves as a sight for grand ceremonial occasions but is still one of the biggest attractions in Thailand. You’ll find no shortage of iconic scenes and features to capture from sacred royal architecture to the iconic Temple of the Emerald Buddha. One of the popular features that many try to capture is the three golden spires that stand tall in the sky surrounded by the golden roofs of the temples. The front area of the palace next to the entrance ticket booths provides an ideal vantage point from which you can capture this iconic shot.
