At ACTS, we strive to build a caring and supportive community in which every neighbour feels safe and included. We are dedicated to creating a community in which diversity is valued, and everyone gets the resources they require to succeed. We aspire to positively affect the lives of our neighbours by providing comprehensive support services that ensure they receive the assistance they require during times of distress.
Our dedication goes beyond providing emergency aid; we want to create a community where survivors of domestic abuse feel secure, supported, and understood. We hope to establish a healing and growing environment for survivors by offering comprehensive services and cultivating a network of caring professionals and volunteers. We also use education and activism to increase awareness about domestic abuse and achieve long-term social change.

Utility assistance is only available by appointment, with eligibility occurring once every six months, with the exception of Dominion customers who have specific appointment dates. In addition to utilities, ACTS provides emergency financial relief such as rental help when funds are available and Thrift Store coupons, depending on the circumstances.
ACTS aims to transform crises into opportunities. People come to us feeling humiliated or dejected, much as a play's first act finishes on a cliffhanger. To promote optimism and self-sufficiency, we offer emergency assistance grants, housing programs for single individuals, and feeding programs for low-income seniors. Our objective is to help our neighbours begin their "Second Acts." Even objects given to our thrift shop begin their "Second Acts," preparing to be appreciated in new homes.
