Shrine of Serene Light

Founded in 1891 by an ethnic Chinese family this is a place of worship and reverence to Chinese deities. Located in a courtyard surrounded by high buildings, the shrine offers peace and serenity despite its location in the heart of the bustling city. Although it was accessed through a narrow pathway until recently, Sang Tham Shrine as it is rightly known now has a wider and more majestic entrance having numerous visitors like many other attractions across Phuket. The distinctive architecture of this shrine complex is akin to Hokkien-Chinese constructions.

Banana Beach

Situated between Nai Thon and Bang Tao beaches, Banana Beach is also known as Banana Rock Beach and is not much known among tourists. Picturesque and alluringly deserted, this hidden beach is 180 m long and has clear water enticing visitors. With a short drive from central properties like Avadina Hills by Anantara Banana Beach is ideal to spend some hours lazing around and enjoying swimming.

Kathu Waterfall

Located in Kathu, this enchanting waterfall has cascades of drop pools at different levels that truly captivate visitors. To witness its beauty to the maximum visiting it after monsoon rains when the fall is full and cascading is ideal. Getting to the top of the fall can be done using the stone stairways, many shaded spots are found on the way up to catch your breath and continue. Have a refreshing dip in the pool by going to the top of the falls. If you are happier with smaller ones there are a few you would pass on the way up. The entrance to the waterfalls has refreshment stalls available to fuel up as needed.

Thai amulets had originated at Buddhist Temples. Amulets were handed out to worshippers to be a constant reminder to follow the teachings of Lord Buddha. Nowadays a variety of amulets blessed by well-respected Buddhist monks are sold at Thai Amulets Markets.
