Awesome Activities and Attractions in Singapore: Enjoying the Joys of the Garden City

Brimming with exciting attractions, vibrant streets, exciting natural wonders and a diverse cultural milieu, Singapore has plenty to explore as one of the best travel destinations in Southeast Asia. While it may be impossible to explore everything the Garden City has to offer during a single stay, here are a few of the star attractions and activities that are worth enjoying during your vacation in Singapore.

1

Gardens by the Bay

This large futuristic park, located near any serviced apartment hotel in Singapore, is one of the biggest contributors to Singapore’s status as the ‘Garden City’, providing a modern fusion of nature and technology. One of its standout features is the Supertree Grove, a collection of large super tree structures that carry several plant species and which come alive at night with a mesmerising light show.

The gardens also feature two large greenhouses - the Cloud Forest which features a 35-metre-high mountain covered in plants, and The Flower Dome which recreates the dry climates found in areas like California and the Mediterranean region.

Universal Studios

This is another of Singapore’s star attractions, featuring 7 zones of various themes and several rides and entertaining shows. The theme park covers a large area of around 20 hectares and features 18 attractions that are unique to the park. You can catch various themed attractions based on popular films and TV shows such as Jurrasic Park, Sesame Street, Transformers and more.

There are plenty of restaurants serving up various snacks and meals that ensure you stay energised, and several stores and shops that sell exciting merchandise from T-shirts, keyrings, toys and more.

Chinatown

Visiting Singapore’s Chinatown is always a great idea if you’re looking to explore the colourful and vibrant culture that is at the heart of the Garden City. You can visit the restaurants and Hawker food stalls that line the streets and serve the best of Singapore’s culinary world. Or you can enjoy a cultural and historical tour by stopping by the neighbourhood’s cultural sites like the China Heritage Centre or the Thian Hock Keng Temple which is the country’s oldest temple.

4

Orchard Road

This is one of the most iconic shopping hubs in Singapore, filled on both sides with international and local department stores, boutiques, beauty salons, entertainment venues, restaurants and cafes. You can spend an entire day wandering through these various establishments and enjoy a range of sights and experiences. Coupled with the vibrant atmosphere of local and foreign crowds, the experience to be had at Orchard Road is unlike any other and is worth enjoying if you are staying at nearby accommodations like Dao by Dorsett AMTD Singapore.
