Many see the "dark night of the soul" as an inevitable hurdle on the path to Awakening. But the important thing to know is that it doesn't have to be. As a meditation teacher, I have integrated the latest research in psychology and cognitive neuroscience with traditional teachings to create an in-depth model of the mind, as well as complete step-by-step instructions for meditation, from your first sit all the way to mastery of the deepest absorptions. It's possible to achieve profound results quickly – and without having to wallow through a terrifying dark night. dharmatreasure.com

These four facets or dimensions of personal and spiritual growth really are complementary and yet independent factors in which we each have our own strengths and weaknesses. I half-jokingly say that if a person is high on any one of them we can mistake him or her for a "spiritual person", pointing to the fact that such excellence can co-exist with fairly major deficits or problems with a persons way of being in the world. This has been a very useful framework for me and my clients and I hope you will have the opportunity to experience its utility in your own journey. In this presentation I'll discuss how certain teachings, as they were passed down from generation to generation, sometimes in a context where little or no meditative practice was being carried on, became misinterpreted. I'll discuss the need to acknowledge inconsistencies in traditional formulations, and outline some tools that can help us to "debug" our source code — the teachings.

A talk about a modern form of meditation based on a private and individual guidance through words of compassion and wisdom pronounced by a meditation guide. The conference proposal will question how this interaction is made possible through a network, at a distance ? How this might change drastically the way our Buddhist teachings are spread in the future ?

The epic story of the events that set the stage for the flourishing of Buddhism in America is told in a multimedia presentation by Charles Pierson and Martin Saunders. Many of these events took place in Madison, Wisconsin. Based on the ebook to be published in 2014.
-How the true face of spirituality is as beautiful as it is ugly.
We all have expectations of what we believe spirituality and spiritual realisations will bring. Most of this is mashed together with religious rhetoric and dogma, designed to control the masses. For example all the rules laid down by religious systems have backed behind them the suggestion that this is what 'GOD' wants you to do.
