Second only to Kilimanjaro in the African continent, Mount Kenya (5,199 metres) is the tallest mountain in the country and shares a direct link to the smaller yet captivating setting of the Aberdares Mountains (3,999 metres) via an elevated grassy stretch. Nestled within a national park, these two famed landmarks are surrounded by Afro-alpine moorland and Afro-montane jungle which are but a few of the highlights that you will have access to. Specifically, members of Africa’s Big 5 are known to reside in and around these peaks as well as mountain antelope, the black and white colobus and giant forest hog.
